Fitzrovia is jam packed with history and links to people who lived here before.

This walk takes you around the area and uncovers these stories. We "meet" several former residents of Fitzrovia and hear about their life. Each stop includes a famous quote that is relevant to their story, and the game is to see how each quote connects to a big reveal at the end.

Discover the meaning behind the term “Fitz” and why it was such a distinctive name. Writers, preachers, abolitionists, and artists feature in this historic neighbourhood. Meet a woman who loved to get drunk and do cartwheels in the pub, without wearing knickers! Learn how a playwright motivated himself to finish his daily pages. Hear how a former slave became a revolutionary man of his time, and what happened to his legacy. Encounter a man so inspirational, even Benjamin Franklin was one of his biggest fans!

This tour is perfect for those who want to explore a different part of London, far from the busy tourist attractions, discover literary and historical figures, and even find some unique places to eat!
